Myosotis sylvatica aka Forget Me Not is now in flower, although they are an attractive plant with profuse flowers they are considered an Environmental weed.
They often escape into bushland as their seeds are quite sticky and are easily spread by people, pets and wildlife. Once in the bushland they can quickly overtake the forest floor and compete with our native orchids, groundcovers and grasses.
To control the spread remove before seeds form, forget me nots are quite easy to pull from the soil by hand, they can be added to your green waste bin or dried out and composted.
